Position Title: Head, NEN Colleges and Start-ups East Africa
Location: Kenya East Africa

Responsibilities:
1. Partnerships with educational institutes including Engineering and Management institutes and Colleges to provide entrepreneurship education as an integral part of the training, exposure and experience for the students, so that they are skilled entrepreneurially.
2. Identify, engage and support early stage Start-ups through learning, connects and other resources for sustainability and growth – through the campus and ecosystem partnerships
3. Develop city based entrepreneurship eco-systems with strong networks of mentors, investors, service providers and entrepreneur-peer groups that can support new start-ups
4. Key activities will be in the area of planning, implementation, coaching and consulting with partners.
5. Interfacing with Engineering and Management institutes, Entrepreneur organizations, Mentor and Investor groups.
6. Entrepreneurship education network
• Scope the Colleges and Entrepreneurship development stakeholders and framework in the country for a strong understanding of current status, challenges and opportunities
• Help identify the needs and define the goals and scope of the program partnership with clear roles and deliverables of the entities involved – keeping in mind the key WF programs on offer
• Work with the team to create a detailed project plan, monitor actions and ensure timely completion of deliverables to meet the needs.
• Liaison with all parties involved, ensuring common understanding and that deliverables meet the requirements.
• Responsible for developing and managing the NEN institutions & other partner Organizations including Entrepreneur & Startup Associations in a given market
• Qualify and sign up relevant institutes as per target & within timelines
• Facilitating the capacity development of member institutes –this includes working with the head of the institution, faculty leaders, and students to help structure, design and execute the right experiential programs
• Facilitate access to different resources from within and outside (ecosystem) the Wadhwani Foundation.
• Initiate and lead collaborations, networking & training programs on ground
• Identify & develop local resource teams including key faculty, mentors & entrepreneurs
• Work with the Central Team in mapping the market training needs and help implement these programs on ground
• Help administer the surveys on campuses at regular intervals
• Catalyze interest in entrepreneurship amongst students on campuses
• Drive participation for programs
7. Start-up network and support
• Identify and enroll high potential startup entrepreneurs for different kinds of programs
• Identify and strategically engage all the relevant ecosystem partners such as mentors, investors, incubators, accelerators.
• Deploy the NEN service offerings intelligently to the respective target customers in each region
• Monitor the impact of the program through jobs created
• Identify critical needs of startup entrepreneurs in the region and provide recommendation to program and product teams for modifications or development of relevant programs and content.
Requirements:
• Good academic pedigree with minimum of MBA from B schools and Strong executive presence with strong networking and leadership skills.
• Experience: Minimum 18+ years in roles leading projects and successful teams. Experience in handling multiple markets across Africa and should include interfacing with higher educational institutes, government departments, start-ups and entrepreneurs. Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic planning skills. Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills. J0047 : Program Manager NEN & GSN
Position Title: Program Manager, GSN and NEN
Location: Ghana, West Africa

Program Manager will own all activities related to launching and making the WF advantage programs in the region successful while working with the local partners and WF team members. This role is primarily that of a Program and Partner Manager. Key activities will be in the area of planning, implementation coordination and interfacing with the Engineering and Management institutes, Entrepreneur and SME organizations, Mentor and Investor groups. While the manager needs to have or develop expertise in the area of entrepreneurship development and education, the intent is to engage, and monitor individuals and partners, working with them with WF learning and content resources etc. so that students, start-ups and SMEs have more support. Additional responsibility would be to monitor results including new companies started by graduating students and growth indicators including jobs in the companies that are supported. Will own all activities related to launching and making the SDN program in the region successful while working with the local partners and WF team members. This role is primarily that of a Program and Partner Manager.
More specifically the role may be broken into the following key responsibilities:
1. Project Management for the WF Advantage GSN & NEN Program : Scope the Entrepreneurship and SME development stakeholders and framework in the country for a strong understanding of current status, challenges and opportunities. Help identify the needs and define the goals and scope of the program with clear roles and deliverables of the entities involved. Work with the manager to create a detailed project plan, monitor actions and ensure timely completion of deliverables to meet the needs. Liaison with all parties involved, ensuring common understanding and that deliverables meet the requirements. In general, ensure WF involvement is properly utilized and resulting in valuable deliverables that meet the objectives of the program and WF NEN initiative.
2. WF Advantage Entrepreneurship education network. Responsible for developing and managing the NEN institutions & other partner Organizations including Entrepreneur & Startup Associations in a given market. Qualify and sign up relevant institutes as per target & within timelines. Facilitating the capacity development of member institutes –this includes working with the head of the institution, faculty leaders, and students to help structure, design and execute the right experiential programs. Facilitate access to different resources from within and outside the Wadhwani Foundation. Initiate and lead collaborations, networking & training programs on ground. Identify & develop local resource teams including key faculty, mentors & entrepreneurs. Work with individual institutions to visualize and build goals & annual road maps. Work with the Central Team in mapping the market training needs and help implement these programs on ground. Help administer the surveys on campuses at regular intervals. Catalyze interest in entrepreneurship amongst students on campuses. Drive participation for programs

3. WF Advantage Start-up and SME network and support, Identify and enroll high potential startup entreprenentrepreneurs and SMEs for different kinds of programs

The Africa Head will build and lead operations in Africa through effective implementation of WF’s programs mentioned above. The candidate is supposed to drive and maximize outcomes and impact in the new job creation through entrepreneurs and job placements in the Continent. Be the face of the Wadhwani Foundation; establish strong credibility, thought leadership and visible presence for the Foundation. Build a strong bonded community of beneficiaries (Startup and SME entrepreneurs, and students and professionals) and Partners (Associations, Corporates, Academic institutions, Government officials). Recruit and manage staff, including performance monitoring, mentoring and training. Develop annual budgets and detailed annual operating plan/s including monthly, quarterly or annual deliverables, outcomes and expenditures. Develop dashboards and program performance reports, on a monthly or quarterly basis. Maintain strong executive presence and manage business operations and roll-out across multiple geographies.

Overall Ecosystem development to include the following:

SME Ecosystem: In identified countries, in the East, South, West Africa and MENA region supporting thousands of SME’s that achieve 100% growth in 3-5 years. Ecosystem development to include the following: ? Establish the WF SME network and programs. ? Develops strategy on marketing the Programs. ? Strategize on building a nationwide community of SME’s. ? Develop annual plans, targets and budgets in executing workshops and events ? Supporting collaboration and increased communication across the entrepreneurship community ? Mentors: Establish an average of 50 mentors (including vertical and horizontal experts) per city across a minimum of 20 cities. ? Customers/Service Providers: Build 25-30 customer (prospects for start-ups/SME) and 25-30 service provider networks per city, in each of the 20 cities. ? Global Entrepreneur Networking Platform as a mobile app. that enables connects, workflow, user rating, among entrepreneurs and mentors, investor, customers, service providers. Accelerators: Demonstrate successful model for accelerators for venture creation, start up hyper-growth and SME growth in multiple cities and build a replicable/franchising model for Accelerators and through Govt. partnerships/franchising create a minimum of 3-5 accelerators in each of the 20 cities for each of the three stages of entrepreneurs defined above.

Skilling & Education Industry Initiatives:
Drive the WF – Start up and GSN team to manage the initiatives in the Africa region. This will involve interface with national APEX bodies in Industry, Educational Partners, to deliver a new paradigm of industry driven mainstream education. Supporting collaboration across the Colleges and entrepreneurship community.

Role Context:

Founded in 2000 by Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, the Foundation's primary mission is economic acceleration in emerging economies. The Foundation is driving economic growth in India and other Asian countries through large-scale initiatives in job creation and skill development.
For job creation, Wadhwani Foundation established the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) in 2003.
NEN has built a strong network in India that continue to inspire, educate and support emerging entrepreneurs.
Thousands of practicing entrepreneurs and start-ups are also supported through NEN’s Entrepreneur Academy that features hundreds of short videos from experienced entrepreneurs, angels, VCs along with dozens of longer video courses and blog posts.

Entrepreneurship education and training are some of our key offerings. We are working on multiple curricula for students, and training programs for entrepreneurs, and mentors with innovative learning formats and pedagogy.

The Content person for Colleges, will be responsible for conceiving, and articulating next generation, world class NEN education offerings for college students, which are productized and suitable for deployment on scale through partners worldwide.

This process involves developing new content and reformatting existing content in a manner such that programs can be delivered globally by trained facilitators and channel partners.

The job involves coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders like instructional designers, content developers, experts and entrepreneurs.

Responsibilities:
